With this scarab pendant I wanted to create a piece that allowed the gem to glow with an inner light and I think I succeeded with this one. I had left the citrine scarab frosted so that it would enhance the glow by diffusing and holding the light. The overall effect is absolutely beautiful and the scarab has an almost golden moonstone like appearance the way the light and colour move within the stone.
The pendant is set in 18k yellow gold with a natural Australian green sapphire. The scarab symbol is often depicted holding a sun or disk between it's front legs and this is what I wanted to portray with this setting. I hope you like it!

I do love working with this blue chalcedony from Turkey. It has a very distinctive blue hue and translucency to it which I really enjoy. It is very nice stone to carve with a wonderful feel, a certain softness yet very tough. This is one of my flowers from heaven which I have set with a beautiful blue Ceylon sapphire.

Without doubt one of my favorite stones to carve is rose quartz. There is something about the beautiful soft translucent pink glow that radiates from within. It is magical and touches on the ethereal, there is a calmness to it and a feeling of gentle love. With this in mind I carved a very simple flower to embody this lovely energy and spirit of the stone. In the centre of the pendant is a very pretty pink spinel. The setting was finely made in 18K yellow gold.

In many cultures around the world, the Four Pillars symbolise certain wisdom and principles that a good life and indeed a good culture may be built upon. The Four Pillars also embody a strength and solidity that can be depended upon. These are serious pieces of hardware with over an ounce of 18k yellow gold and a matching pair of 12mm golden ctrines that I have cut in my Turbine design. The cufflinks have been handmade and are unique, one-of-a-kind.

I am super proud of how these earrings turned out! I wanted to create something very special for these pink tourmalines so I designed these earrings to really highlight the stones and the incredible pink colour. The pics just don't come anywhere near close to showing just how beautiful these gems and the earrings are. I am over the moon with them and in the hand they are a knockout!
The metal is 18K white gold with over a carat of diamonds and some delightful little pink spinels to really add some sparkle.

This fine carving of a little mouse was made from Australian agate from the renown location Agate Creek in Far North Queensland. A remote outback valley with a breathtaking landscape where fossickers have been going for a very long time to dig an astounding array of agates, thundereggs and jaspers. The eyes are black spinel cabochons and the tail is 18K white gold.
The colour and shape of the original block of agate were absolutely perfect for a little grey mouse crouched upon a pebble. I think the agate has a lovely bluish tint which is nice. I enjoyed carving this piece, revealing the mouse hidden in a block of agate stone.

This beautiful golden ring has been handcrafted by renown Australian jeweller, Todd Turner. It’s a wonderfully inspired piece and was the outcome of a collaboration between Todd and I. If you are familiar with the story of Ferdinand the Bull then you might have tweaked to the ring’s name. A bull’s horns poking through among the chrysanthemum flowers.

Another big bold carving in my Psychonaut series. I'm greatly enjoying creating these small sculptures, they are very technically challenging and I am learning alot through the process. They take alot of time, patience and steady progress. I have to pay alot of attention to the details and have to be very careful as I go. What especially captivates me are the inner realms, the scenes within the stone that are created by all the optical effects, the inner reflections, they really do create new worlds.
I've been working on my Psychonaut series of small sculptures for a while and one of the things I've been wanting to do is to properly display them. This was a challenging exercise, trying to figure out a good way of doing it. The idea was to have a stand made for each sculpture as each is totally unique. I wanted the sculpture to be removable so I designed a presentation stand that I thought would do the trick and I'm very happy with the result. To make it really special the stand is made of sterling silver.
This is the first in the Psychonaut series to have a stand made for it. I will be making stands for the others but if you are interested in a particular piece and would like to fast track a stand for it, please contact me.

Here is something very special! Large Oregon sunstone with this quality of copper schiller is a very rare stone. This gem is an exceptional example of such a rare beast. Firstly, it is large and clean (of flaws that is) and that is something to be noted. Sunstone often has flaws, veils and the like and is often only seen in smaller sizes because of this.
But what makes this wonderful Oregon sunstone so special is the incredible and beautiful display of copper schiller ideally positioned inside the stone. It is like a fall of copper rain and the way the sun strikes it is truly something to behold. It is mesmerizing and I find myself tilting the stone backwards and forwards to capture that dazzling flash. It is a very captivating stone and when it is set on your finger or as a pendant you'll find your eye constantly drawn to it.
I step cut this gem in a freestyle manner following the natural shape and form of the piece of rough. I wanted to maximise the size of the gem as much as possible whilst ensuring that the proportions and aesthetics were pleasing to the eye. I also wanted to keep the depth of the stone relatively shallow so that it would sit low on the finger as a ring stone or nicely against the chest as a pendant. I can see this beautiful Oregon sunstone worked in rose gold as the rose colour would complement the copper of the schiller perfectly, after all, copper is a component of rose gold and is what gives it the "rosy" appearance.
This is an exceptional sunstone and would suit the collector of fine gems or someone who wants a special and amazing piece of jewellery.
This exquisite sunstone has been set by the renown Australian jewellery designer, Todd Turner.

I knew this carved amethyst was going to look great once it was set but how it finished up just exceeded all my expectations! I worked with the award winning Sydney jeweller, Roberto Mattei to create this unique, custom pendant. The design features 112 diamonds set in delicate curving tendrils of 18K yellow gold that grip and hold the richly hued amethyst in a loving embrace. To see this pendant in the hand and especially at night is dazzling, it truly is something special. This is one jewel that I am very very happy with. If required, a suitable gold chain and be arranged to complement this piece.

These are the classic pair of black scarab cufflinks made in 18k yellow gold. I carved these matching scarabs out of natural Australian black spinel which is found on the Central Queensland gemfields around Rubyvale, the same region where our stunning sapphires are unearthed. I've always been fascinated by the scarab beetle and it's ancient symbolism and scarab gems have been worn as jewellery since antiquity, particularly in Egypt.
These beautiful timeless black spinel scarab cufflinks would suit any occasion from formal wear through to smart casual.
