Brazilian Alexandrite - Matched Pair Pear Cuts - 1.28ct
An exceptional and rare matched pair of Brazilian alexandrites cut in a classic pear design. These gems have a strong colour change and I have to tell you that they were very difficult to photograph. The gems look much better in the hand then the pictures suggest. In normal light and sunlight they have a lovely green blue teal colour which changes under incandescent and flame to a pink purple red hue. The hues are hard to describe and because of all the different types of light that we are exposed to you’ll often see both hues, the teal and red sort of shimmering together, like one is bursting to come out at any given time.
Alexandrites are one of the most rare and mysterious gems around and good quality stones, especially the Brazilian stones are quite scarce on the market. These alexandrites will make an ideal pair of earrings and are well matched with the oval #213050. Together they represent a unique set of alexandrites. Very highly recommended.
