Smoky Quartz - Mount Horai - 223.6ct
This carving was inspired by the Japanese and Chinese legend of the island of the immortals known as Mount Horai. This is an island where it is said that the immortals reside and is often pictued with mighty waves crashing against the steep rough cliffs.
On one side of this carving I have portrayed a steep island with three pine trees and on the reverse there are powerful waves crashing against it. For the wave I took inspiration from the famous Great Wave off Kanagawa by Hokusai. In my carving I also have the wave throwing up a large pearl.
