A lovely natural parti coloured sapphire from the world renown gemfields of Central Queenland around the small township of Rubyvale. The gem has a nice yellow blue parti colour thing happening and I have carved and then skin polished the sapphire to retain it's natural shape as much as possible. The gem is a relatively thin stone and a conventional cut like a round brilliant wouldn't have fitted. When setting the sapphire, just take the same approach as if it was a skin polished opal. It would suit a pendant, ring or anything really. It’s a very nice sapphire.
