Rose de France Amethyst - Scarab - 11.69ct
This is a very lovely rose de france amethyst that I have carved as a scarab beetle. I have given this carving a frosted finish as I very much like the effect it has and this gives the gem a beautiful soft glow. I am very drawn to this scarab and I can see it set as a pendant or a ring. It feels really nice rubbed between the fingers.
Note that this is my very first carved scarab beetle and I wonder why it's taken me so long to carve it? Perhaps it's these strange times that make me feel drawn to creating a small talisman. Among other things the scarab is a symbol of the Sun and regeneration and the eternal cycle of life.
