Nigerian Mandarin Orange Spessartite Garnet - Rectangle Cushion - 6.31ct

A world class, incredibly vibrant and intensely coloured natural mandarin orange spessartite garnet from Nigeria. These are truly amazing gemstones to see in the hand. The gem has a deep rich mandarin orange fire within, the hues are vivid and striking and soooo much nicer in the hand than the pics. It is rare to find such a spessartite gem of this quality and size.

When looking at the pics you will see what looks like little spots. These are actually natural inclusions which are characteristic of spessartite garnets. I’m not sure exactly what the little inclusions are but I know they are common to this type of garnet. In the hand the inclusions are not as noticeable as they are in the pics as they are highlighted by the photographic lamps I’m using.

This is a superb example of a large mandarin orange spessartite garnet and I imagine that if this beauty was set with white gold and a halo of diamonds it would be a spectacular cocktail ring and dynamite at night!
