Mozambique Rose Quartz - Trefoil - 42.67ct
A simple elegant study of form in rose quartz. I had this lovely piece of rough rose quartz from Mozambique that suggested a three sided curved form. I could see the gentle twist and invisible curves. I thought of trefoil flowers and their particular shape and I kept that in mind as a guiding light while I shaped this piece. I had to remove some inclusions and this helped naturally to define the shape. I wanted the curves to be smooth and flowing, working together to complement the natural diffused glow of pink rose. It has defined edges that serve as a girdle and the gem could most certainly be set as a powerful yet gentle jewel.
