Prasiolite - Moon Gem - 27.2ct
Here is the my second Moon Gem, a beautiful flawless green prasiolite.
With this design I wanted to embody a number of different elements, one being to represent that ephemeral art of making something which is quite technically difficult to create appear simple. I believe the Japanese word shibui encapsulates this philosophy of simplicity and complexity.
With this design, the pavilion dome is frosted which helps hold and diffuse the light whilst the crown dome is recessed and polished. The crown rim is also frosted which gives some contrast to the polished dome. I also wanted the design to work in any jewellery setting and foster some interesting and imaginative creative designs. This gem would make a very beautiful ring.
